Without a doubt, New Zealand offers some of the best hunting in the world. At Stag Point we want to help you experience that for yourself. If you have never been hunting or you have been hunting all your life, we can arrange the trip of a lifetime.
Local knowledge and experience are two key factors in a successful hunt. Our head guide has been hunting all his life and his help and knowledge are a big part of the experience Stag Point offers you.
We have our own 200-hectare game estate and access to some of New Zealand's greatest hunting locations. Getting venison in the freezer or a trophy head is an easy 30-minute drive from Wellington, a few days walk or a short helicopter flight, the choice is all yours. From a half day hunt to a week-long mission, we can create an experience that suits your budget, the time you have available and your hunting goals.
We recommend bringing your own rifle but if you are a new hunter, we can provide a rifle for you. You do not need an NZ firearms license to hunt with us, as our Guide has a current NZ firearms license. You will need to bring with you hiking/walking boots, rain jacket, suitable clothing for hiking and food and water for the day.
We also offer exciting hunting for experienced hunters and bow hunters in our game park.
Stag Point specialises in New Zealand Red Deer. We can also arrange hunts for Fallow Deer, Tahr, Wapiti, and Fishing. We take care of everything and can even arrange taxidermy for you.

Stag Point has a range of hunting adventures, whether you want to hunt in the alpine or the bush, day trip or a week long mission we can sort you out. On our game estate, you can hunt Red deer and if you are wanting to hunt Fallow deer, Sika deer, Wapiti, Tahr, or Chamois, we can arrange to get you into some prime hunting spots around New Zealand.
